Also includes research to understand toxicity, producibility and properties of biological materials, and analyses of how such agents might be used, and to maintain the ability to predict the consequences of their use. Research to maintain expertise to specify detection, protection and medical countermeasures.
Also includes work to understand in vitro, pathology and handling of highly infectious pathogens.
