Design in the Extended EnterpriseDesign in the Extended Enterprise
“An extended enterprise” represents the concept that a company is made up not just of its employees, its board members, and executives, but also its business partners, its suppliers, and even its customers to establish a joint endeavour. The extended enterprise is an interconnected network of information, and requires enterprise-strength solutions to ensure collaborative relationship between supply chain members.
Also, “extended enterprise” is a loosely coupled, self-organizing network of firms that combine their economic output to provide products and services offerings to the market. Firms in the extended enterprise may operate independently, for example, through market mechanisms, or cooperatively through agreements and contracts. Design in extended enterprise involves both the cooperative design and the design works which is given to the other firms. |
