Research to evaluate and analyse optical components, splitters and couplers.
Also includes work on optical materials for wideband RF fibre optic links and fibre optics for communications, in particular with UUVs, underwater weapons, anti-tank missiles, hydrophone arrays and in data transmission systems.
Also includes research to understand design and fabrication of optics for use in demanding defence applications, and materials for both lenses and their coatings.
